1. The claim of luminosity is only somewhat weaker than the claim of omniscience, which we saw reason to doubt above. Whereas we are omniscient regarding our mental states iff being in a particular mental state suffices for knowing that one is in that state, mental states are luminous iff being in a particular mental state suffices for the ability to know that one is in that state.
